Mobile Marketing: A golden opportunity

If you could go back in time and buy Apple stock when it first came on the market, would you? How about Google? Of course you would. We all would. But being able to spot golden opportunities like that when they first appear is not easy. If it was, we’d all be rich.

I happen to have a knack for spotting opportunities long before most people. Unfortunately, I haven’t acted on my instincts. Instead I’m always looking back and saying, “Damn, I knew I should have gotten into that when I had the chance.”

Now that I’m older and wiser and free of the constraints that have held me back in tne past, I can act on my instincts. And right now my instinct tells me that there is opportunity in mobile advertising. And I’m not talking just from the standpoint of someone who offers mobile marketing services. I’m talking about anyone who has a product or service to sell.

So why am I so excited about mobile marketing? All you have to do is look around. The smart phone has given people the ability to be connected digitally anywhere, anytime. And we are at the very early stages of a huge ramp up in smart phone use. In 2010 only 27% of mobile phones sold were smart phones. That number will be 50% by the end of this year. But smart phones are only part of the story.

Almost all mobile phones can send and receive text messages. And while smart phone use is growing by leaps and bounds, so too is the use of tablet computers, which are also considered a mobile device. Any company that can deliver their content regardless of the device is going to have an advantage.

The same is true with mobile marketing. You don’t need a crystal ball to see into the future. All you have to do is look at other regions of the world, such as India and Asia, that are ahead of us in terms of smart phone use. Mobile advertising is already the norm in these places. The U.S. is even behind Europe when it comes to smart phone use. But this is all about to change very quickly.

No matter what type of product or service you have, you are in a position to leap in front of your competition by being first to go mobile. Three years from now everyone will be running mobile campaigns. Everyone will be offering discounts via SMS text messages. Everyone will have content that is automatically formatted to fit whatever device a visitor uses to access your content. But right now it’s wide open.

So you have three choices. Try to do it on your own. Wait until you see your competition making the move to mobile and then jump in. Or you can make the move to mobile right now. Today. We’ve already done the research for you. We can show you how to implement mobile into your existing marketing mix right now. It’s your choice. You can go with your instinct, or you can look back a year from now and say, “Damn, I knew I should have gotten into that when I had the chance.”

Be smart. Go mobile. We’ll help you get there. St. Louis Mobile Marketing.
